“Warm Czechoslovakian Beer” by J.C. Mari

Warm Czechoslovakian Beer

Looking at the young girls
Walk by with the young boys
Makes me realize i’m
Old,

old enough to
Be their father
and so on.

It bothers me i
Never had a good
Piece of ass
When
I was their age,
had to

fuck my
first pussy
at 18, a
crackhead
whore named
Tammy.

It’s fixing to rain
and the day’s
dim like
hands over
an almost faded
light bulb

and the
constipated sky
reminds me of
Jeff’s old apartment
By the bay
Before the
Condo boom and
The hipsters:

Power always
cut off and
Candles everywhere as
We drank
Warm
Chekovslovakian
Beer

And outside
The night
and
Beautiful women
and
Beginnings of
Things

and
inside
just us
and
warm
Chekoslovakian
beer in the
(almost ) dark.

Justin’s Note:  Here’s your first taste of J.C. Mari’s poetry, I trust you’ll find yourself as addicted to it as Tammy was to her crack. I wonder what ever became of Tammy.
